A Sims 4 YouTube Recommendation c:

Hey, guys! I would like to introduce you to my favorite Sims 4 YouTuber - WalmartThor! He's pretty chill, his videos are really entertaining, and his community is really nice.

I won't lie, most sims 4 content creators on YouTube kind of annoy me. I'm not sure why, but I struggle to watch their videos. That's not saying they are bad, just not for me. However, Thor has a more calm, relaxed gaming style while still being funny and I adore his videos. I'm happy to finally have a sims 4 youtuber that I actually like haha Hopefully you guys will like him, too!

While his main focus is the sims 4 currently, he has mentioned wanting to play the sims 2 and 3, plus he is playing a few other games. He has some plans to play some spooky games for Halloween, too, which is exciting! c:

I am one again going insane about The Bifrost Incident (album by The Mechanisms (aka no-longer-immortal time traveling cyborg space pirate cabaret band, feat. hit podcast writer Jonathan Sims)) and all the complexity that's hinted at and expressed between Loki and Thor, specifically from Thor's perspective. That's it, I'm just thinking about Thor.

I'm thinking about what it means to have a friend and how it hurts to think you know her until one day she disappears. How could this have happened? Did she tell you her plans beforehand? Did she try to give you warning? Did you believe her? Had she whispered her desires to escape like a confession? Or worse, did she leave without so much as a "goodbye?" Do you play and replay your last conversations with her in your head, searching for codes and meaning that you can't ever be sure is there?

I'm thinking about what it means to lose someone, to feel absence in your chest like a cavity for years and years and years and.

I'm thinking about what it might mean to hold dear the memory of the one you're missing until she returns. And I'm thinking about how, when she returns, instead of a joyous reunion, her actions steal away someone else who was dear to you.

I'm thinking about how you've lost them both. She (because it is just "she" now, you can't even speak her name) is back---caught, more like, but your other is gone, and you hate her for it. There is no way to have them both. And now there is no way to have either of them. How could you be expected to forgive such an unconscionable and irreparable act? An inconsolable pain? You hate her so much for it that you can only feel vindication when she is executed. Did you feel vindicated? An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind, but what is it like to feel as though you're the only one who can't accept that this happened?

I'm thinking about how the anger of betrayal (now, twice over) might feel, until your friend's enemy's death, and how you can expect that the very public exhibition of violence against her is the only closure you will ever receive.

Was she quiet at the gallows? Or did she plead and cry out her conspiracies, desperate for a listening ear? Did she beg for your help in the moments before her demise? Did you turn away from her, or did you watch until the life left her eyes? How could you stand it?

I'm thinking of how years may soften the sting of grief, but a dull knife can still wound.

I'm thinking of the years you spent alone, with only a fool as competent company.

I'm thinking of ghosts. I'm thinking of anger and mirth. I'm thinking about reflections and the face you saw on that damned train. Did you feel a brief moment of joy at her familiarity, or did you jump right to the impossibility of her presence? Did you feel any hope at reconciliation, or did that only come later after the last remnants of remorse had finally left you?

I'm thinking about how, head clouded with confusion and rage, you confronted the mastermind behind all of your frustration; and how in exchange for your effort you, too, were excommunicated.

I'm thinking about how priorities change in the face of tragedy; how unlikely alliances form in the most desperate of situations; how there is room for shared grief to be felt together, even as you and your new Ally put the past behind you.

I'm thinking about your decision to be the final one to confront the Mastermind.

I'm thinking about how, even after death, there is no room for forgiveness.

I'm thinking about how, even before death, there is still room for peace.

OK, so it turns out that when you've got a B&B the Christmas season is hella busy - which seems like something that should have been obvious. But yeah, the wife and I have been run off our feet.

But, I've finally had a chance to play the game so let's get into it!

Not gonna lie, this hits a bit too close to home, we just started the game and the kitchen sink is already broken!

Flower: Wow...a waterfall indoors, this is totally groovy, man!

Hetty can be...kind of dramatic.

Hetty: I did not give permission for such an image to be shown... Although...are there Cheetos in this game?

Afraid not...but that looks pretty good.

Hetty: Yes, as you can see I'm simply thrilled.

Hetty: I will say that I very much appreciate the punctuality of the workmen is this game... Certainly not Irish.

Hetty: When I was alive I never would have allowed outsiders to see me in my swimwear, but...seeing as this is not actually me, I suppose I can allow it. And I'll even admit that I was most fond of swimming, a very refreshing pastime indeed! I can't say I ever went swimming on the ocean however...which is a shame if the scenery is like this!

Meanwhile back at the Mansion, these two are fully immersed in reading.

Isaac: I say, that's a most accurate representation of myself! These computers are amazing.

Thor: Isaac speaks for himself, Thor does not read.

Sass (low voice): It's more like he can't.

OK, I'm not sure why No-Pants went down to the beach...

Trevor: All the babes hang on the beaches!

Thor: Jay's game is learning, Thor does not abide messiness! If only Thor could clean in real world...Jay leaves sink in unspeakable state.

Sam: It really, really isn't, our B&B has received the highest hygiene certification.

After that horror, I sent my man, Pete, downtown to the library, now I feel like this is a Sims 3 thing, because the one nearest us sure doesn't have tropical drinks!

Pete: Wow...somewhere that's not the mansion?! It's so...weird. Almost as weird as me drinking out of a coconut. That's strictly a vacation activity

Pete: This takes me way back! Identifying animals out in the wild was something I was a master at in the Pine Cone Troopers.

Sass: As much of a master as you were with archery?

Thor: Heh, burn.

Isaac: Thorfinn, you're asking about my book! :D

Thor: Game has once again not lived up to reality.

Alberta: I am loving my look here, Jay, you've got everything right.

So you mentioned bodyguards in your fic, and that got me thinking about other Yanderes for Peter Parker to have as like… bodyguards? Under Superior Iron Man.

Imagine Platonic Bodyguard Deadpool. Teaches Peter how to shoot a gun or something. 100% crazy enough to take a bullet for Peter, and powerful enough to put a stop to anyone who tries to hurt the spider-baby. May be romantically interested in Iron Man.

Bruce Banner, who was given Extremesis in order to keep control over the hulk. It didn’t work quite right- now his rage is cold, logical. And he’s angry at the world. But it gets quiet around stark and his boy. His rage has a purpose- to protect.

Thor and Loki, who aren’t human. They see SIM tony and think “oh wow what a good and normal dad” because they really don’t understand human relationships. (Idk I haven’t watched the movies.) So maybe they want to be the cool uncles, and maybe they want to support Iron Man’s venture into parenthood.

Good ideas as usual 🩵

The last one tho 😂 It would be kinda funny to see them trying to be "uncles" and have no idea what it means or entails 😂

-i realised i hadn't got much of neil and todd but after the proposal i focused on chris and ginny sm (also bc lesbians) so here's a couple things i noticed them do

-todd practised the piano and neil stood and watched

-neil then had a go on the piano (he's shit at it <3)

-they practically kicked two random people off the bar stools so they could sit there and flirt with each other while they were waiting for drinks

-also there was another instance of the households clashing in the weirdest crossovers ever - at one point neil was sat at a table with thor and captain america, and ianto from torchwood. you heard it here first, neil perry is now friends with thor odinson

watching Sam play Screed: Viking Time and I have. Questions. about Asgard. to whit:

why must people always paint Loki as a generic villain? he's not a generic villain! he's a trickster! he's an Anansi kinda guy! he talks his way into trouble and then talks his way out! he's not even a villain he's just not always on the Asgardian side and he often Causes Problems On Purpose but he also...fixes them. for Asgard. idk it annoys me it's like always putting Hades as a villain in Greek stories it's like nah he's just a Different Kind of Guy

minor gripe but at one point Thor yells 'Jotunheim scum!' and can I just say that's like me running into battle against these guys yelling 'NORWAY SCUM! DENMARK BASTARDS!' like. I know you know the adjective is Jotun because you keep saying it.

Speaking of Greek stories I see we ran out of time on the design side and had to dip back to some Odyssey stuff because BOY HOWDY is this a Mediterranean looking Asgard. where exactly the fuck did all these fluted stone columns with Tuscan capitals come from? what's with the big courtyard with a geometric pool? why are there what appear to be sheets of lapis lazuli in the walls? why is there literally a Greek ruin in part of Asgard? there's these statues along the Bifrost and not only are they mounted on Doric columns and in classical contraposto they are literally wearing chitons and Corinthian helmets.

there's no longhouses! there's no wooden buildings! there is one (1) stave church style building and as Sam says it looks like it was made in the Sims, like someone had a sense of what they wanted it to look like but all the wrong building blocks. it's all stone columns with, at best, some knotwork patterning slapped on (over fluting, which is wild, even in architecture where Greek style columns are appropriate you usually pick BETWEEN fluting and pattern work, and I would be much more up for giving them a pass if they used a Tuscan pillar shape but put knotwork on. like really for a Norse style stone columns would be better squared off (or, mostly, not there) but if they needed stone columns and arches I could close my eyes and pretend if they used like. Romanesque pillars and rounded arches like 11th and 12th century cathedrals (even though the game is set in the 830s). but they're doing this very kind of High Classical thing with a very thin and half-assed Medieval Norse skin slapped over bits of it in a way that didn't really get popular in Northern Europe for like another 600 years and idk if it ever really took off in Norway (idk much about Norwegian architecture tbf). which makes me think they literally just retextured and rearranged a bunch of assets from Odyssey which is a shame because designing an Asgard setting is such a fun design project where you could really explore some unrealistic extremes with wooden-style structures. but no. it's Greek.

and the thing is, ok. with the Greek theming in Asgard. I know it's only happened because the game was rushed out, but like the conflation of Norse and Greek has some very 😬 unintended implications wrt how much a lot of the people who are Very Into The Surface Level Aesthetic of both cultures are. how to say. fashy white supremacists peddling the myth of some unified White Western Culture where both Ancient Greek and Medieval Norse cultures feature heavily. and if I was. making a game about Norse history and mythology. I would personally be being Very Wary of feeding the fash bc white supremacists looooooove their imagined version of Manly Viking Alphas.

Sometimes I just don’t because I’m not ready to respond yet, others if I’m not doing anything especially I respond about 2 minutes or so later, but it honestly depends on my mood if I’m feeling chatty or not haha. If someone has a long, long conversation going, it days me a few days to respond because it’s a lot of conversations in one dm box (some people are crazy for talking about several things in one conversation LOL). But yeah, just social burn out sometimes but I always try my best to respond :)

16. No. At one point I wanted a couple, but honestly it’s not true in my nature. I prefer a nice clean body. It’s your temple, not a place to bombard your true beauty of your skin. Plus it’s addicting and it’s scary getting some then needing more. I knew someone who started of with three and now his arm is nearly covered, let alone his body. It’s not that healthy for your lymphatic system either. I’ve heard horror stories

In closing...this game has some seriously weird attraction system...and there's no better example than this...Hetty is attracted to the repair dude. But I mean, there's no shame in that, he's a handy guy!
